Frequently Asked Questions
What safety measures exist for the e-bikes?
- The bikes can only be accessed by registered users of the property and cannot be activated without the app. Bikes are locked through the app if the user wishes to make a stop throughout their day! Bikes also come equipped with an alarm system as well as a physical bike lock.
- Residents must “sign out” the bikes so Boomerang can determine who last used them should they go missing. Bike location is also tracked through the Boomerang App.
Does it cost for residents to use the e-bikes?
No! Accessing the bikes is completely free of charge. We will require credit cards to be entered but no charge will be made to the residents. We are working with properties for solutions for residents that may not have credit cards.
How much power do the e-bike charging stations need?
Power requirements for the e-bike fleets are often little more than a normal kitchen appliance.
Do we need to already have bike storage on the property?
While available bike storage areas on the property are nice, they are not necessary for installation of these e-bikes! We will work with each property to determine which storage solution works best for them.
What if residents encounter any problems with the e-bikes?
Residents and housings staff can report all problems with the bikes on the Boomerang App and they will be addressed by Boomerang Fleets in a timely manner!
Do you offer childrens' e-Bikes?
No, ABC purchases e-bikes that are only available for adults 18 and over. Those under 18 may not use the bikes per the Boomerang Fleets Terms and Conditions. However, we have created a resource packet for families that may wish to obtain affordable bikes for children!
Why a two year program term?
This gives the residents a chance to get familiar with the bikes and increase ridership throughout the program term. Two years gives residents and housing managers enough time to decide if this is a program they would like to see continued at their property.
