Acronym for best available control technology to control air pollutants from a particular source or sources. BACT is a term used in the U.S. Clean Air Act to refer to the maximum degree of reduction of each pollutant achievable for a major emitting facility through application of production processes and available methods, systems and techniques. BACT is required on major new or modified sources.
