The Problem: High-polluting vehicles pose a major challenge to efforts to reduce air pollution in the region. Mobile sources account for about a third of all ozone-causing pollutants so finding and repairing vehicles that emit the largest amounts of pollution is going to help the area in its overall effort to reduce ground-level ozone.  We need to give owners of high-emitters a real incentive to significantly reduce emissions.

The Program: The RAQC works with several partners to help fund repairs for vehicles that qualify for the State of Colorado’s High Emitter Identification Program. Financial assistance valued at more than $715 is available to citizens whose vehicles fail the on-road emissions test. Vehicles must be recommended into the program by the State’s Technicians or the Department of Revenue.
