Denver, July 13, 2010 – This month, the Regional Transportation District (RTD) is marking the 10 years since the Southwest Light Rail Line opened. Banners will be on display this month at a dozen key light rail stations and transit centers, and information will be on the RTD and FasTracks websites. Since RTD opened the 8.7 mile Southwest Light Rail Line on July 14, 2000 it has carried over 8 million passenger trips. The light rail network as a whole carries an average of about 60,000 passenger trips every weekday, well ahead of ridership projections. View full press release.
