“Accessible Bikes for Community” Micromobility Program
The Accessible Bikes for Community Program (ABC) seeks to expand access to clean, affordable transportation by providing free or low-cost e-bikes to residents of affordable housing or other communities where micromobility would address a key need of the residents.
With e-bikes funded by RAQC and provided by Boomerang Fleets, the program supports healthier communities, reduced ozone pollution, and greater mobility equity across the Front Range.
Micromobility offers a powerful, practical, and equitable pathway to reduce vehicle emissions while improving quality of life across the Denver Metro/North Front Range region. As communities search for alternatives to single-occupancy vehicle travel, micromobility—particularly electric bicycles and scooters—stands out as a strategy that produces immediate and measurable air-quality benefits. This program removes high upfront costs e-bikes, removes technology and payment barriers, increases geographic coverage, and fills various safety and infrastructure gaps.
How it Works
The RAQC partners with Boomerang Fleets, who manufactures, installs, and takes care of the e-bikes during their lifespan. E-Bikes will be provided to properties for a two-year term, with the RAQC covering all expenses for those two years.
After the application process is complete, we will meet with property managers to discuss the possibility of e-bikes at their property. As of 2026, bikes are on a first come first serve basis so be sure to get in touch with us ASAP!
Once we have met, Boomerang will schedule a site visit at the property to determine where the best on-site location for e-bikes and charging equipment would be, as well as how many bikes the space would permit.
Once a number of e-bikes is decided, RAQC will purchase the desired number of E-Bikes and Boomerang will install them on the property.
Bikes will be available only to residents of the property and can be accessed through an app. Bikes will be available throughout the day but must be returned to the charging ports after use. They go out but always come back, which is why they are “Boomerang” bikes!
We would love to work with each property to host a launch event for the residents in which a staff member of Boomerang Fleets can walk them through the process of accessing and using the bikes, as well give residents the chance to take them for a spin!
