The light emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor device that emits visible light when an electrical voltage is applied. LED lights do not emit harmful gases or chemicals, leading to reduced indoor air pollution and a healthier workplace. In addition, LEDs use 75% less energy and last up to 25 times longer than incandescent lighting.
