Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program

The Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program provides funds to states for transportation projects designed to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality particularly in the areas that do not attain National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). The program supports projects that encourage alternatives to driving in single occupancy vehicles, improve traffic slow, and help regions meet air quality goals.
