Clean Air Auto Repair

What Is CAAR?

CAAR is a program to assist vehicle owners with vehicle repairs. CAAR is focused on reducing vehicle emissions and promoting practices that contribute to cleaner air quality in the region. These programs are essential for addressing air pollution and protecting public health and the environment.

How It Works

Apply! You will be initial screened. If you pass screening you may be approved for a repair.

Eligibility

Owner must be 18 years olf or if under age 18, must have your parent/guardian sign all paperwork. 

Vehicle Qualifacations:

Have less then 160,000 miles

Gasoline or Diesel powered vehicle or hybrid (not electric). 

Year of vehicle must be: 1990 to 2010

Not have a tampered emissions control system. Unless you have a police report indicating your catatlyce convertor has been damaged and/or stolen. 

Be currently registered in Colorado. 

CAAR will fund heavy repairs or auto maintenance items. However, services are limited to those that we have determined to have an air quality benefit.

Vehicle Maintenance

If you are looking for maintenance support. If approved the RAQC will pay for vehicle maintenance services. This includes sparkplugs, wires, harness and oil change.

Heavy Repairs

  • Ignition parts, primary, and secondary (plugs, distributor, rotor, and points).
  • Fuel system and related parts (including diagnosis, fuel injection, carburetor, etc.)
  • Diagnostic labor for computer-based vehicles.
  • Repairs to missing or inoperative emissions equipment.
  • Exhaust system repairs from catalyst, mufflers, tailpipe. etc.
  • Carburetors or fuel injection system cleaning, overhaul kit, etc
  • Engine rebuilds
  • Engine repairs to restore compression and valve timing.

If you are looking for maintenance support. If approved the RAQC will pay for your Oil Change and Tune-up costs. This includes sparkplugs, wires, harness and oil change.
